Mike McKinnon

Mike is one of only seven active SSI Instructor Certifiers in Australia. This is the highest professional level you can achieve through the SSI system. Having dived in over 12 different countries and certified well over 800 people from Open Water level through to Instructors, Mike has a wealth of knowledge that puts him at the top of his profession.

Platinum member updates

Dear members,

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you about a few updates to the platinum club terms and conditions. As you all know the cost of living is effecting us all. To date, we have absorbed the rising costs of fuel, insurance premiums, rent, wages and HMAS Brisbane Conservation parks fees to name a few. The changes below have been made to keep the membership fees as low as possible.

Commencing 15 Sept 2024

Annual Membership renewals

Standard $850 – no change

Platinum Plus $1350 – $50 increase

Platinum master $550 – no change

Rejoing fee

A rejoining fee of $100 is payable if you renew more than 1 week after your membership expires.

Why are we doing this? There is a significient amount of admin time required to cancel your membership, and then reinstate it. If you renew on time its just a few small tasks. It also ensures your membership is on an annual rolling basis – which is a good way to track annual equipment servicing.

Commencing 15th Sept 2025 (next year):

Currently you get a free soft drink, or beer if you wear your platinum club shirt/jacket when you come for a dive/attend social events.

After 15th Sept 2025, this will no longer be available.

Soft drinks and beers are $5. Members can get one drink half price ($2.50) if they wear their club shirt/jacket.

New BONUS loyalty $$ levels

LOG 25 dives with Scuba World in your ‘membership year’ you receive a total of 50 loyalty dollars
LOG 50 dives with Scuba World in your ‘membership year’ you receive a total of 250 loyalty dollars
LOG 75 dives with Scuba World in your ‘membership year’ you receive a total of 500 loyalty dollars

*You MUST renew ontime to receive the above bonus loyalty $$
