Scuba World is also the only dive shop in Australia that is an Aqualung Partner Centre and Scuba Schools International (SSI) Diamond Dive Centre. This is the highest achievable level worldwide.

Every diver wants to be a “good diver” – Perfect buoyancy control is the first step in this direction. “Improving your buoyancy control skills is highly recommended. Every diver who wants to improve diving skills and at the same time wants to perform active environmental protection should take a PERFECT BUOYANCY course. Nearly every diver who wants to dive on great spots on holiday is requested to do a Check-Dive and buoyancy control is one of the essential skills that has to be performed. This isn’t done to stress you out at the start of your holiday. It is done to protect the reefs you will be diving around. The destruction and harm caused by divers with weak buoyancy skills is having an impact on reefs worldwide. Additionally, perfect buoyancy control is a prerequisite for nearly all Specialty Courses.

PREREQUISITES

If you are over 45 years or have any pre existing medical condition you will require an AS4005.1 dive medical (with one year currency) before you enroll in this course.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Day 1 | 7:30am – 4pm: Academic session, pool sessions and finalize paperwork

Controlling your Buoyancy in the Water
Weight check with Aluminum and Steel cylinder
Perfect Buoyancy Control as an Active Contribution to the Underwater World
Advanced Buoyancy techniques

The primary goal of any SSI Specialty course is to teach you important skills in a fun environment. All courses are taught using home study, short academic sessions, and in-water training.

QUALIFICATION

A certified SSI Perfect Buoyancy Diver possess the skills to protect the beautiful Coral Reefs, and also achieve improved air consumption, allowing a longer dive time.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hire equipment is an additional cost. To hire an Aqualung regulator with computer, Aqualung BCD and wetsuit is $55 for the 1 day.
A minimum of two divers is required to start this course

TRANSFER DATE/ CANCEL

There are no refunds once payment has been made. However, we do issue store credits in the correct circumstances. Read below for more details.

Scuba World strongly recommends booking the public mooring no earlier than 24 hours before you plan to dive. This will give you the most accurate weather forecast. For more information about weather conditions visit our diving conditions web page.

When can you cancel your dives and get a store credit?

If Scuba World cancel dives to the ex-HMAS Brisbane wreck due to unsafe weather conditions
If you provide a medical because you’re unfit for diving

What is the procedure to cancel your dives and get a store credit?

Call Scuba World on 54448595 to let us know you’d like to cancel and explain the reason why
If applicable, email or drop in a copy of your medical
A staff member will issue you with a store credit for the amount you paid less a $10 administration fee
This store credit is treated like cash. It can be used on any goods and or services at Scuba World and never expires

COMPLAINTS

If you have a complaint, make the manager aware of this on the day so the issue can be resolved promptly.
