In depth – weekly dive report

Often in scuba diving the simplest equipment design is often the best and safest. That is definitely the case with the recently released buoyancy compensator device (BCD) from Aqualung the world’s largest diving equipment manufacturer.

Promoted for the travelling diver the Outlaw as it is known, weighs just under two kilos. Unlike most BCD’S it has no metal D rings, and no pockets. A diver can create up to twenty seven different size configurations. The Outlaw comes with back flotation only. This gives the diver better trim while underwater. The webbed daisy chain often seen on military equipment gives the diver multiple attachment points for accessories. The chest strap offers personalised comfort. For those divers needing to carry lead weights there is an optional weight system available. Experience diving in its purest form. Cost around $599.
