Becoming a scuba diver is the first step in a journey that will forever change the way you experience the world. You will explore the wonders of a weightless underwater world, interact with incredible marine life and discover ecosystems hidden beneath the surface.
Learning to dive is much easier than you think and the best way to experience this amazing new sport is the SSI Try Scuba program. Simply book a Try Scuba experience through Scuba World and download the MySSI App on your smart device. The best part, your materials are FREE! The digital materials will help prepare you for this first taste of a great underwater experience.
If you want to dive anywhere you want, with anyone you want, the Open Water Diver program is your international certification to be part of an exclusive group of underwater explorers that most people only dream about joining.
At Scuba World we offer training from beginner (Learn to Dive Courses) through to Instructor Training.
We also offer seven SSI speciality diver programs:
Once you complete your Open Water Diver Course, you are certified to dive to 18 metres globally.
If you wish to dive deeper than 18 meters you will need to complete the Perfect Buoyancy Course, Nitrox Course and the the Deep Diving Course. This will allow you to dive to 40 metres globally.
Your next step is the Advanced Open Water Diver recognition. You need to complete a total of 4 speciality programs and log a total of 24 dives.
Once you have your Advanced Open Water certification, your next step is Master Diver. This involves completing four specialities, the Stress Rescue Program and log a total of 50 dives. This is the highest level you can reach in the recreational system.
Your next step is Dive Master, once you obtain this qualification you can work in the dive industry, leading groups of certified divers on underwater tours.
The next step is Assistant Instructor and then Instructor.
Scuba World can take you for Open Water Diver through to Instructor in about 12 – 18 months, depending on your availability.
